On March 30th I was pleased to participate in a wonderful evening celebrating Science, Art and Poetry just as the header says. Below is a link that will give you the opportunity to see the work created for this competition and hear the words of winning community poets. Vera Constantineau Times Like These times like these the urge to call home to listen to mother launch a story that would often take hours to get through overwhelms sometimes it would be the ones of dad sometimes her memories of her grandparents passed on like a gift that gave and gave of itself like my mother who gave of her self with tales of other times filling up empty spaces pushing out loneliness in times like these Less and More weighs less than a sparrow this ache yet so much more than the stone that marks the grave

to hope, to gratitude
to sending love to those in need
and those beyond need
Open your arms
raise your hands to the universe
fill your lungs with night air
welcome the stars
Open your memories
recall that which is past
reach for that still unknown
look with hope to sky and stars
and be calmed
